Maths : Learning about fractions

We are learning about fractions. We begin with a whole and divide the whole into parts. A fraction is a part of something.

Here we are with a whole banana which we have divided into two equal parts. I am holding one half in one hand and one half in my other hand.

Discovery Time was fun!
We baked Gingerbread Men. Delicious!

Sketching

Here we are sketching the different native trees  in our School. We will see some of these trees at Cornwallis Beach.


EOTC Week!!


We are enjoying EOTC week. We learn to work together and have fun! Here are some pictures of our first two days.

Our tour of the beautiful native trees in our School.

Room 1 is the Kowhai tree. Other rooms are the Pohutakawa, Te Kouka, Kauri and Rimu trees.



We played games on Monday afternoon.....tag, fruit salad, rob the nest and more!!


We are doing lots of amazing artwork about the beach and bush. We hope you can come into the classroom and have a look!
