One day Room 5 were being curious learners and began thinking about how long do bubbles really last once blown? We used $2 shop solution, water and detergent and just water... Most bubbles lasted around 6-8 seconds and water was unable to form bubbles on its own. We then thought about different ways to form stronger longer lasting bubbles and with that Miss Rao began googling bubble solution recipes.
We eventually found one that required water, detergent and SUGAR!!!
The children thought that sugar might make it last longer because it makes the bubble heavier making it harder to pop.
There was so much learning going on, it was amazing to watch and listen.
ANYWAYYYYY... we began blowing bubbles and one cluster of bubbles lasted 40 seconds!!
We then began using our own solution and finding objects in the class to use as bubble wands. They used lego cubes, tyres from the lego cars and even their hands. What a clever bunch of children in Room 5.
Layla told me all about this. She had so much fun!
